In the lands of the coffee, from the book, Searching for treasures
Marsella, Risaralda, Colombia
“I guess that you’re right! Yes, I could stay and live here and do so and live happily ever after. I don’t really know if in Marsella, which does seem quite possible. But, for sure, in this country where I’ve found som many smiles and kind-hearted people. You see, I have liked and enjoyed every single place I have visited, so I can say for sure if I could stay only in Marsella, but, without a doubt, I would love to stay and live in these Colombian lands.” Both laughed at his answer. One, from the sheer pleasure of listening to the foreigner’s approval while the other joined in amazed to hear himself speak in this manner.
“Do you like the music?” the watchman asked.
“I haven’t heard it before. What’s the name of this song?” Jean Marie inquired.
“It’s a good song. I like it very much! Particularly the lyrics. It’s called Decisions. The author is a Panamanian salsa composer by the name of Ruben Blades.”
“Well, now. Decisions are what will be bothering me when the time comes to leave these lands behind. I will have to decide if I move on from Marsella and look for adventures. Meanwhile, I believe it’s time to head down the street to Danilo’s. I have been waiting all day long for a steaming cup of coffee!”
“Go for it, now that you can! I’m convinced that you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for over there. They have the best coffee over there; you just wait and see! Enjoy your coffee and have a good afternoon.” the guard of the Cultural Center answered, warmly saying goodbye.
“Good afternoon to you, also!” Jean Marie cheerfully responded, turning on his heel and heading down next door.
“Good afternoon, welcome, and please come right in! If you prefer outdoors on the patio, it seems such a waste to stay inside on such a beautiful afternoon! A beautiful young woman greeted him as he entered the door to Danilo’s Coffee Shop.
“Good afternoon. Such a beautiful spot you have here. I would have never thought so, seeing it from outside in the street.” He remarked, sitting down and taking in the panoramic view from the outdoor terrace.
