He kept on walking until he reached the Cultural Center, where he stopped at the moment, listening to the music that drifted out from inside the house. It was a musical band that could be heard distinctively at the door where he had paused to listen, and they were playing salsa music. The watchman recognized him from his earlier morning visit and greeted him warmly.

“A very good afternoon to you, neighbor. How are you doing? So, you’re still in town, good for you! I believe this place has caught you up in its web, or am I wrong?” he commented with a warmhearted smile.

“Caught me up? I’m sorry (though he tried, he couldn’t remember the man’s name). I don’t get your meaning.” he also answered, smiling cheerfully. This country is undoubtedly the land of smiles, he thought to himself. It seems to me that in Colombia, the kids learn to smile and talk simultaneously.

“Caught up, you say? That simply means feeling so good. It means that you are so enjoying yourself that you don’t want to leave. So again, I would say that you have been caught up with Marsella.”

Jean Marie felt a chill go down his spine as he heard the guard.

“Caught up? Well, there is some truth to that, I would say. I certainly don’t want to leave at the moment. Could I actually agree with going back to live in that country, so far away and on the other side of the sea? Life is good here, and so are the people. How difficult an apparently simple question can turn out to be.”
