“And I christen thee Warrior Queen” said Grandfather dramatically.

“And I took advantage of his presence and asked him to please bless my rosary, the one with the black beads that I love so!” said Grandmother affectionately.

“And why Warrior Queen, Grandfather?” I asked.

“Well, I named her Queen to remind me of Manuela, who is the Queen of my heart and my life! And Warrior because at that time, she was to fly me to war against the pests. Little did I know that the pest would change to two-legged pests, later on in life!”

The US Air Force supported the Contras against the Sandinista Forces. They flew their supersonic jets, taking off from their military bases in Honduras and Costa Rica, on either side of Nicaragua, with an impressive range of technology and hardware at their fingertips. This was easily deployed in all activities: bombing sorties, personnel transportation or simple reconnaissance operations.
