“It was a very hot day and we walked together to the field. We had built a large hanger and my lively aircraft was sitting pleasantly in the shade.”

Grandmother continued saying, “the Bishop looked around disconcerted and then asked us where the nursery and the child was.” She laughed as she commented on this.

Grandfather added, “Yeah, he did look surprised, I thought it was because she was looking so good!”

“Anyhow,” Grandmother continued, “I explained that we wanted him to bless the plane for us. Your grandfather then, in his usual way, interrupted and said no, it wasn’t a blessing, he wanted to christen the plane and he wanted her to be called The Warrior Queen!” At that we all laughed for a while. Finally Grandmother took control of the conversation:

“The Bishop replied that I was right” she said, “that a thing cannot be baptized and that was only meant for people.”

“He actually had the nerve to call my Queen a thing!” Grandfather cried.
