“Thank you so much, Doña Juli. I’ll be happy to take you at your word. I’m sure I will be more than satisfied with half a serving,” the traveler answered, his voice displaying the relief that he was feeling, as the sound of his stomach was heard once again.

When they had brought his half a meal, Jean Marie immediately began to devour it with great relish, as he thought, “I can’t believe they call this a helping for children. There’s more than enough here for me and a few guests more.” With this meal, I’m done for the whole day and, at least, part of tomorrow!

At that moment, the traveler heard his stomach roar again, and he thought to himself, “Surely, that’s a sign of contentment.”

After saying thank you to all the people at the Fonda Paisa, the traveling artist made his way down to the plaza.

“So, I guess it’s finally time for that cup of coffee,” he reflected. “Hmm, the problem is where to put it. I feel so stuffed that I doubt there’s room for anything else.”

He began to walk across the plaza when, suddenly and apparently, out of nowhere, Jon Jairo appeared beside him.
