Once the afternoon cooled down, we held a baseball tournament in a field nearby. Everyone played for a while and though baseball is a serious matter, on that afternoon, we were out just for fun. In the evening Grandfather prepared a few rum and coconut drinks and we settled down, as the sky became aglow with color to watch and enjoy the breathtaking sunset.

Finally, as it became dark, Epifenia, Grandfather and I sat on the sand and enjoyed the cool breeze. The sky was alive with stars, and we pointed out the different constellations, as well as their main stars, quietly chatting among ourselves. I savored every moment of that beautiful night by the sea, with the star-lit sky, so different, remote, and far away from the complex, modern city life…

Next day we got up very early. After a light breakfast, we went exploring with Epifenia in the boat. She knew the lay of the land intimately and took us to visit distinctive, offbeat venues, where we swam, snorkeled and in general had a wonderful time. The day passed all too quickly.
