Nonetheless, the fact that had totally rattled him was not the undivided attention he received from the three women, it was the gigantic, colossal platter bursting with food that defiantly had appeared as if by magic on his table, and precisely in his place. No doubt about it, that was his table, no arguments about this. There was his bag, the one that held his drawing pad and stuff, his trusty traveling companion, hanging right there next to that preposterous, inordinate dish!

The table was square-shaped and measured a little more than three feet to each side. It was cheerfully decorated with a chequered and brightly colored red and white tablecloth. Exactly in Jean Marie’s place, lay this exorbitant, all-inclusive-banquet, set on a white porcelain oval-shaped platter that looked more like a medium to a large serving tray.
It occupied, perhaps, two-thirds of the length of the table. In its width, it extended to about one-third of the table.

The food displayed an interesting array of bright colors, a blend of vibrant yellow, green, red, and white hues. It was singular and unique in its colorfulness. A rich combination of contrasting tones that produced a genuinely engaging and appetizing presentation. Embarrassed, Jean Marie heard his belly rumble once again, while he disconcertedly watched the women smile as they listened to the sounds.
