Radiohead is a British music band. It was formed in 1985 and is an alternative rock band with roots both in art-rock like R.E.M. and Pink Floyd and the alternative rock scene. Their iconic song, Creep, was released as a debut-single in 1992, and it immediately was successful, later becoming a world-wide hit by 1993. The song talks about an introverted guy that meets a beautiful girl and can’t face her because of his insecurity and low self-esteem. Thom Yorke, the composer, describes the song as the story of an of an inebriated man who tries to get the attention of a woman to whom he is attracted to by following her around. In the end, he lacks the self-confidence to face her and feels he subconsciously is her.

The lyrics

[Verse 1]

When you were here before
Couldn’t look you in the eye
You’re just like an angel
Your skin makes me cry
You float like a feather
In a beautiful world
I wish I was special
You’re so fuckin’ special

[Chorus]

But I’m a creep
I’m a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don’t belong here

[Verse 2]

I don’t care if it hurts
I wanna have control
I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul
I want you to notice
When I’m not around
You’re so fuckin’ special
I wish I was special

[Chorus]

But I’m a creep
I’m a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don’t belong here

[Bridge]

She’s running out the door
She’s running out
She run, run, run, run
Run

[Outro]

Whatever makes you happy
Whatever you want
You’re so fuckin’ special
I wish I was special
But I’m a creep
I’m a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don’t belong here
I don’t belong here
