“So then, let me tell you about it. I’m looking for the good old doc’s replacement. Now, we’re convinced it can’t be just anybody or just any horse-doctor. We don’t care if he is the world’s most eminent veterinarian. Why is this? For the simple reason, and to begin with, there’s a basic requirement we need from him. For starters, he must love our horses and passionately at that! Precisely as much as we love them ourselves. Besides, he must absolutely commit to taking care of them, but with loving care, not for the job, nor for the money, simply because it comes from the bottom of his heart. Sure, you probably think that we’re crazy. Perhaps we are, but for us, the horses are family! It’s as easy as that, bro!”

“If all I’ve said, up to now, weren’t enough and to still complicate matters just a bit more, we also need this hard-to-find-horse-medic to be willing to travel. I’m talking about some serious traveling, full time traveling, life on the road could be said. The bottom line, my man, is that we need a caring veterinarian. At the same time, he has to be a sort of wanderlust, a world trotter, a horse medic with an adventurous spirit: all of these not-easy-to-find peculiarities, neatly bundled together into the same deal. The truth is that this kind of a person just doesn’t grow on trees, nor does he fall from the skies above. Now, my dear Oscar, I find you here, unexpectedly! Unbelievably, you have been tailor-made to fit our needs. You’re like a suit made exactly to order! How can you expect me not to laugh, when here I am, sitting at the table and talking to the man of the hour, the impossible to find man we have been desperately hunting for, in other words, the guy that fell from heaven and directly into our lap… no more and no less! You, my dear Oscar, are the crazy fellow we’ve been looking for, and what’s more, I have already become fond of you. In these short nights that we’ve hung out together, we have kindled a friendship that appears to go back to our carefree, childhood days!”

What follows is history… let’s just say that on that very night, Oscar found his destiny. He met with a crossroads that would lead him to ultimately find his place in life. Without realizing or ever intending to do so… he had found what he had been searching and looking for since a particular day, so long ago, when he left home and family behind. With those simple words, Gabriel was about to change his life radically.
