     Gabriel stopped laughing and began to answer in a subdued and severe tone:

     “My Dear Oscar, if you only knew the things that we’ve gone through lately. Having heard your explanations… I just couldn’t help but laugh at this most remarkable coincidence.” Apparently, he was in a most cheerful mood at the moment. As he noticed the question mark on Oscar’s face, he continued saying,

     “The fact of the matter, Oscar, is that your last remarks fit so perfectly with my reasons for this trip to Lima. So, without making a big thing about this not so simple matter, let me proceed to explain why I’m here. Don’t think that in our circus we have a lot of freak animals or the typical animal acts you’ll find in most circuses that travel the roads of this vast planet of ours. That’s the way it was, way back, when my grandfather and his brothers were in charge of the show. In those days, let me tell you that a circus was full of animals, it seemed like if the jungle was traveling with them, oh yes siree!! With this last explanation, he started to laugh one more time, for a brief, but an enjoyable moment.

     “We’ve done our best to change things in our show. At the moment, we have a radically different proposal which consists of a high-quality circus. We aim to offer a high level of performance in this showbiz world we move around in. Our pitch is oriented toward offering the ultimate perfection in the exhibition of fine horses and horsemanship, a world-class act, to speak. It goes without saying, that we want to offer a decidedly sophisticated act, for in the long run… the show must go on, and the public is expecting a proper entertainment.”

     “We have the finest collection of horses, all of them handpicked thoroughbreds, and some of them are undoubtedly the most outstanding exemplar, fine-breed animals on this planet. You just wouldn’t believe the grace and stylishness that they carry on their elegant four legs! The humblest of them all is pure stock and the best of its kind! Of course, they are all perfectly well trained. Let me tell you, my man, every single one of our numbers is absolutely orchestrated and choreographed, every single detail accounted for. Ours, us the most sophisticated production to be found in these lands!”
