Oscar was immediately interested. He was, above anything else, passionate about animals. And of all the animals in the world, his favorites were the horses.
Arriving at the farm, Oscar asked his friend to take him directly to the stables. One of the farm hands picked up his things and took them to the house, while they headed to see the dam. Don Enrique, his friend’s father was with the horse. He was more nervous than the mare was.
Having been introduced to Miguel Enrique’s father, Oscar asked for permission to look at the dam. She was laying down and looked worried, occasionally moaning and complaining of her discomfort. With his expert hands, he looked her over carefully, all the while, talking gently to tranquilize her.
