While Grandfather embellished the tale of that night, Grandmother would silently listen to him. She would listen quietly and smiling to herself. Memories that only she was aware of would race through her mind. Abruptly, she would commence to blush and get up immediately, abandoning the room.
Scarcely moments later, she would come back, both calm and perfectly composed, with a smile that has always reminded me of the prodigal cat who had just eaten a mouse.
