Sometimes they would all arrive, and Grandfather would have an enormous amount of cousins around the house. Between his uncles and aunts, his many cousins, the usual family friends and the occasional guests, he would spend many happy hours, hosting and showering everyone with attention.

Ever since he was a young boy, that house was the school, where he learned and developed his impressive skills as a host. As the eldest son, it was his responsibility to make visitors feel both welcome and perfectly at home; a mission he easily accomplished through his warm and outgoing personality and his charming, easy-going hospitality.

“You see, my child, I really enjoyed a full house, but at the same time, I also liked to get up as early as possible. I would lay awake in my bed, just for a quiet spell, knowing that as soon as I got up,  I would have the entire beach and the rocky coast to myself. After a while alone with my thoughts, I was ready to return and just have a good time with all the guests at the house.”
