In the end, for her, her real parents were those adults in her life that loved her and guided her onwards in life
“Julian, (Pilar’s grandfather), directed the orchestra. That in itself, was not such an extraordinary event, for he had amassed a great many presentations beforehand. The unusual and utterly unbelievable happening on that night, was my performance as first violin. As a woman, that was a most incredible event and a first time in Colombia, hardly ever seen in most parts of the world.
“You hadn’t been born yet; however, Fernanda was busy with that task, for she was already Armando’s fiancée, and they had already had set their wedding day. My dear, let me tell you that your real parents were so very concerned with bringing you aboard, that you were conceived during their honeymoon, my most lovely Pilar. A little less than two years after that night you were born. But, I am getting a bit ahead of myself…”
Felipe was totally engrossed listening to Pilar’s grandmother narrate these events. What he just couldn’t understand was the part where she mentioned her real parents. As far as he knew, Fernanda and Jaimito Arevalo were her parents; unless, there was something he didn’t know up to now. Meanwhile, thanks to her extraordinary ability as an actress, Pilar returned to the conversation, but this time, as herself, from her own point of view, and in her own voice, all this without the least interruption in her speech.
