Setting it up…

Since she was a child, she learned that problems need to be addressed right away and head-on!

On Sunday mornings, Camila’s father, enjoyed getting up a bit later than usual. That Sunday, particularly, he had to rise, earlier than he would have liked and without the benefit of that extra snooze. In accordance with one of his favourite guidelines: “Don’t wait till tomorrow, for what you can finish up right away!”, he had no choice, but to start getting dressed and hurry down to breakfast. For that reason, he climbed out of bed, still sleepy and in a foul mood, before going out to help little Camila organize her chores.

When he got to the kitchen, he met with the delicious aromas waiting for him there. On Sundays, Camila’s mom got up early, just like any other day of the year. Camila, was already sitting at the table, and she had almost finished her breakfast. Without mentioning the fact to anybody, she had gotten up very early that day. Silently, she let herself out of the house, and gone to the chicken coops. There, she finished her work on two of the four chicken coops, leaving them completely finished and perfectly done. Then she headed back to her room without making any noise. Once she heard her mom moving about downstairs, she descended the stairs and went into the kitchen.

But… her Mom had heard her quite clearly. That woman had a way of hearing everything that went on in the house. Wisely, she kept it to herself. When Camila came in, without mentioning it, she served her breakfast. Later, when she observed her husband arrive, sullen and self-absorbed, she thought to herself:

“I´m sorry for Camila, for this one is in a bad mood, because she made him get up early, today!”

Camila, quietly finished her breakfast, as if nothing were wrong. She affectionately greeted her Dad, who had sat down at the table with his coffee, and then she commented:

“I’m off to work on the chicken coops. If it’s alright with you, sir, maybe you could catch up with me later.”  Without waiting for an answer, she let herself out of the kitchen and hurried on towards the coops.
