The Trail of the Poets.
Were do I come from, my friend?,
From a little house beyond the wheat fields,
From a small little house,
For a lovely woman that would care to keep me company,
Its got some grape vines in the front,
Where the cicada sing and the sun becomes dust,
A huge entrance in the front
A fountain in the garden,
In the fountain a snail.
In the month of May:
the sun set in colours and showing off his fire,
and when he died behind the wide hills,
he gathered upon himself
the splendours of the new day
together with the deep sorrows of the afternoon.
By the plains and the green hills
the smiling houses painted white
like a band of pigeons
standing by the river.
The night breeze warm and calm
crossed the valley ripping off the petals
spreading in the numerous canes
the placid moans of the trees.
